Graduating high school is a big for step for a young person. I make it a point to attend the graduation ceremonies every year. I always look forward to congratulating many of the new graduates and letting them know how proud everyone in the community is of them.
Every year I join with Deale Historical Society, American Legion Post 226 in Mayo and local groups throughout the district to speak about, honor, remember and place flags on the tombstones of our local veterans. This year I had the privilege of joining one of our local Girl Scout Troops as we placed over 80 flags.
Every year, I am humbled and honored to award Delegate Scholarships to students graduating from South River and Southern High School. Except for 2021 (due to covid shutdown) As Delegate, I haven't missed one of the Scholarship Awards or Graduation ceremonies
Serving as a panelist and giving a legislative update to the Maryland State and local Chambers of Commerce
I was honored to be asked to serve as a panelist for the Maryland State Chamber of commerce luncheon. I was happy to answer many questions and give a legislative update to our local businesses and community members.
The rural nature and beauty of Soco is not just our way of life but it is also our gift to Anne Arundel Co and I'll always fight to keep it that way! That's why I was one of the people on the side of the road picking up trash and clearing debris from wooded areas. We removed a lot of glass and metal from the wooded lot (which is really good since it was a feeder into the Bay).
Another amazing restaurant in Soco. I was very excited to come out to congratulate Dave, Jessica and the folks at Skipper's on their 10th Anniversary!
What a great group of deserving young people. I am always honored to support our FFA.
I was incredibly happy to support legislation that would lower gas taxes. This gave millions of Marylander's some relief from rising costs in almost every economic sector. Unfortunately, this relief was only for 30 days. Although I, along with every republican in the House of Delegates, supported extending this legislation for an additional 45 days, the liberals in Annapolis disagreed and the initiative failed along party lines.
We all know about the tornado that damaged South River High and some homes in the surrounding area. I was on site immediately after to help coordinate with BGE and MEMA. I also immediately reached out to the insurance commissioner to make sure they would have reps at the Southern Dist Police station to help with anyone needing to file claims.
Senator Elfreth and I joined forces for the day to rake, weed, pick up litter and mulch the WW2 Memorial in Annapolis.
Another great business opens in Edgewater! Being a small business owner myself, I absolutely love attending grand openings and business anniversaries.
It's interesting to see the stark contrast between the beginning and end of the 2020 session. We started on a high note, having just elected the first African American and woman as Speaker. We ended session unsure and in masks.
I have attended every graduation ceremony for Southern and South River High since I was elected in 2015. It is always great to watch young people walk across the stage and into the next chapter in their life.
What a fantastic day! Another local business hiring in SoCo
Another successful Oyster Fest at the Captain Avery Museum in Shadyside!
I was honored to attend the ribbon cutting at the new senior activity center in Lothian. This is a much needed resource for our seniors in SoCo!
Having a great debate on the floor of the House of Delegates. I will always stand and fight for our local businesses, jobs, schools, environment and families!
So using this as a poll, I must be doing a good job. Not a lot of people wanted to dunk me! Not to worry though, thanks to a local youth baseball player, I went home soaking wet!
Photos from our amazing Soco July 4th parades!
Here are some pictures from Tawes crab feast as well as Gov Hogans fundraiser at Camp Letts.
I was honored to attend and witness the ground breaking ceremony for our Maryland Gold Star Families.
Everyone had a good time at the Grace EP Church Fall Festival. There was plenty of pony rides, face painting, hotdogs and good old fashioned American Muscle!
Cindy Morgan, President of the Southern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce giving the "State of the Chamber" address.
It's was packed house at the Anne Arundel County Chambers this evening concerning the proposed relocation of Ren Fest to South County. I stand with my South County friends and neighbors who oppose this move.
Congratulations to the Anne Arundel Central Committee for another successful Lincoln-Reagan dinner!
Signing up to run for State Delegate!
